I know this personally. After being saved in 2005, I still carried chains of religion, people-pleasing, and striving to succeed on my own terms. In 2018, God miraculously redeemed and resurrected my life—but that new beginning didn’t start on a mountaintop. It began in the valley, where my foundation was completely dismantled so God could rebuild me properly.

He gave me a beautiful illustration: a tender young plant, newly transplanted. If it bore fruit too early, the weight would crush it. It needed time to grow strong roots first.

So often, we want to jump straight into the harvest season. But friend, God is more interested in your inner growth than your outer accolades. He knows what needs to be removed, healed, or restructured before He pours out His glory through your writing.

1. Are you ready to allow God to purify not just your habits, but your motives?
2. Do you want to be used by God for His glory—or for your own recognition and comfort?
3. Are you willing to release idols, old wounds, and unhealthy attachments in exchange for freedom?

One of my favorite figures in the Bible is Moses. Not just because of his leadership, but because of his heart posture. In Exodus 33, after the people of Israel rebel by building a golden calf, God tells Moses He will still fulfill His promise and lead them to the Promised Land—but He will not go with them.

And what does Moses say in response?

Moses valued God’s presence over the promise. And that one statement continues to challenge me in my own creative walk.

As writers building faith-based businesses, it’s easy to get caught up in deadlines, launch strategies, and platform growth. But the truth is—there is a difference between writing for God and writing with God.

When we ask God to consume us with His love, we’re inviting His presence into every part of our journey. Not just our devotion time or Sunday mornings—but our emails, manuscripts, marketing efforts, and every in-between moment.

1. When we’re consumed by God’s love, we have less room for self-doubt or comparison.
2. Our identity isn’t based on sales numbers or social stats—but on His eternal affection for us.

True love fuels true surrender. And when your love for God surpasses everything else, you’ll begin to prioritize His leading over your own logic. The pressure to hustle falls away. Peace enters the process. And your creativity becomes a sacred act of worship.

3. Father, Help Me See People as Christ Sees Them

Writing With Compassion, Purpose, and Eternal Vision

This third prayer is perhaps the most challenging—and the most transformative. As Christian writers, our stories aren’t just entertainment. They’re vessels of healing, hope, and revelation for the readers God entrusts to us.

When we ask God to help us see people the way Christ does, we’re surrendering the judgment, comparison, and apathy that so easily creeps in. We’re asking to be filled with compassion and to develop Kingdom eyes for those around us.

When our focus shifts from performance to people, our writing takes on new meaning. Every chapter, blog post, or devotional becomes a seed of love. Your words are not just filling pages—they’re planting eternal truths.
