This story has such a special place in my heart. I’ll be sharing more on the behind-the-scene production in a few weeks. But for now go dive into this beautiful book. Here’s a snippet of Kam and Reese.
Kamryn sat on one of the thicker branches staring at her empty hands. She turned red-rimmed eyes his direction. “Come on, Reese. Give it back.”
“You’ve been crying?” He crawled over the ledge and onto the branch, taking a seat next to her.
“Yeah, well.” She rubbed her forehead. “A gal can hold it back for only so long. My options were either hide away and cry or scream. I thought y’all would prefer the former.” Shrugging a shoulder, she cracked a grin.
Not many could hold up under the amount of changes being thrown at them as she had. Kamryn held much strength in her spirit.
“Where did you leave off?” He lifted the book.
“Um, the part when the hawk chased the dove into a gilded room.”
He nodded, flipping to the page, and dug into the pouch at his side.
Kamryn’s eyes widened as he sprinkled the dust over the pages. “Please tell me that’s fairy dust.”
“No.” He chuckled. “It’s story dust. Powerful and potent, the silver flecks have multiple uses. And no, before you ask, you can’t have any.”
He pushed back a smile at her pout and blew on the dust covered words. Letters swirled and danced off the pages. The wanderer’s gasp delighted him more than it should have. Soon, the ink split and transformed into shapes, and a vision unfolded before them as the story came to life. He wasn’t sure which illuminated her face more, the brightness of her smile or the wonder in her eyes.
An innocent, Torin had called her. No truer words could be spoken as he watched her experience a small portion of what made him the storyteller.
A few tears still clung to her lashes. He suppressed the sudden desire to dry them. Not that he would feel the touch anyhow; his curse would deny him that. Instead, he cleared his throat. “Would you like to see the story from the beginning?”
She turned those hazel eyes on him. “Yes, please.”
His stomach clenched at her breathless whisper. Flipping to the first page, he prepared to entertain, already picturing which story he would show her next.
And of course, what party would be complete without goodies? So many fun things are up for grabs. I couldn’t help myself! Jump in, have fun, share the news, and enjoy!
I don’t think I could ever say “thank you” enough. I’m always humbled by the love and support of you, the amazing reader. That you fall in love with my characters as much as I do.
No journey would be complete unless I had someone fantabulous (yep, that’s you!) to share it with. Thanks for tagging along.
Happy Reading! And many blessings!
