Hidden Treasures You’re Missing Out On

Let’s chat book love for a second, okay? Stories are essential to life. Like eating, breathing, and sleeping, stories are essential life resources. At least for me. *happy sigh*

But I didn’t always have the beauty of books in my life. I won’t go into detail, but my childhood was bleak and a bit rocky, with lots of dark storm clouds.

It wasn’t until the age of 11 or 12 that I found the land of a thousand kingdoms, the one place that could send me on millions of adventures without even leaving the building.

Can you guess where that land is?

Yes! The library!

In an interview I did a while back, the question had been raised over what my favorite childhood story had been. Of course I had to dig deep in the memory banks to recall those first adventures. And the earliest stories I remember falling in love with belonged to the Immortal series by Tamora Pierce.

Now it’s been close to two decades since I’d read that series, and the interview sparked the desire to revisit those characters and story lands.book love

So I hopped in my car and cruised on to my local library where I checked out book 1, Wild Magic. (pictured there–>)

But who can check out just one book from the library?

Not me.

So I browsed the shelves trying to figure out what other treasures I might be missing out on. Come to find out there are so many! O_O

AND I want to share them all with you!

For the whole month of August (2017), my Instagram page will highlight all the secret treasures I found at my local library.

But I want YOU to join in the fun as well! Snap a picture of your library book, tag me so I’ll see it (@DWilliamsBooks), and use the hashtag #LibraryTreasures.

Later in the month, I’ll share my top reasons for why I love my local library so much, but for now let’s just go read!

Hidden treasures are waiting to be discovered. Let’s go out and find them!
