Ah! I’m so pumped to be able to write this blog post. Mainly because it means I’m FINALLY released from timeout. <—Yeah, you read that right. I’d fallen behind on revisions for my work-in-progress, Illusionary, and as punishment, I denied myself the privilege of reading fiction novels until things were finished.
If that seems weird to you, that’s cool. But it’s a process that works for me—somewhat.
However, now that I’m able to dive into the beautiful works of books again, I wanted to share which titles I’ll be reading this January.
January’s TBR Pile!
Heartless by Marissa Meyer
First up is Heartless by Marissa Meyer.
I’ve heard mixed things about this book, but I loved The Lunar Chronicles and couldn’t wait to check out Heartless.
So now that I’m free to read, this will be the first one I tackle. (Not literally. Tackling my kindle would be weird).
Intermission by Serena Chase
I have heard GREAT things about this story.
Although I’ve also heard that it’ll gut-punch you.
So I’ll be sure to have tissues on hand.
Darkness Brutal by Rachel A. Marks
This is a new-to-me author and was recommended by a friend.
It sounds like an awesome adventure, and I’m eager to dig in.
Reconciliation by Amy Brock McNew
This is book 2 in Amy’s Reluctant Warrior Chronicles and oh how I can’t wait to read it.
Book 1, Rebirth, almost made me throw my kindle across the room. Now I need book 2. I have to know what happens next. (Kade better go down!)
This baby isn’t part of my TBR pile yet. However, I’ve already one-clicked my preorder and will dive in once it’s live.
Other Book News
Even though I’ve freed myself to read again, I am still working. I’ve joined a Facebook event/ group to tackle a JaNoWriMo, and I’m seriously loving it. My goal is to have 50K for a new sci-fi work-in-progress completed by the end of January. I’ve so got this!
Also in other news, I have the publication ball rolling for Illusionary and may or may not have an official release date aiming for this April (Squee!). More to come in February, as there are a few more things to line up.
